Andy Brown – Music Director

Andy Brown is Music Director of the London Metropolitan Orchestra. He has directed the orchestra in numerous studio recordings, live performances and TV broadcasts.
Andy has appeared with LMO recently at London’s Royal Festival Hall, Royal Albert Hall (live recording and BBC broadcast), St John’s Smith Square and St Martins in the Fields, in UK Festivals (giving 2 world premières last season), the Electric Proms from Liverpool’s Philharmonic Hall (live on BBCTV) and internationally at Cinemusic Gstaad, Switzerland.
He has directed numerous film scores with LMO including Howard Shore’s score for Gangs of New York which received 10 Oscar nominations, Michael Kamen’s final score Boo, Zino and the Snurks, Ed Shearmur’s Wimbledon and Ilan Eshkeri’s Layer Cake, Hannibal Rising and Stardust. Andy has also directed recent scores by Klaus Badelt including 16 Blocks, Killshot, and Rescue Dawn as well as Employee of the Month (composer John Swihart) and Babylon AD (composer Atli Orvarsson). The Oscar nominated film Closer features his recording of a Rossini overture with LMO.
Andy’s credits as Musical Director includes albums with Joan Armatrading, Belinda Carlisle, Ricardo Montaner, Marco Antonio Solis, The Last Shadow Puppets and the Pet Shop Boys. Andy recently broadcast live on BBC radio with Annie Lennox and has just returned from a major European and US tour with The Last Shadow Puppets, with live TV performances in Paris and New York.
Andy has appeared as guest conductor with the Seattle Symphony Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, Munchner Symphoniker and the Dresdner Sinfonika. He recently directed the English Chamber Orchestra in a televised concert from London’s Royal Albert Hall.
