LMO record Babycall with Fernando Velázquez
LMO recently recorded Fernando Velázquez’s score for Babycall, a thriller from Norwegian Production Company 4 1/2 film.
Anna and her eight year old son Anders move into a large apartment building following a difficult relationship with Anders’ father. She becomes overprotective of her son – even buying a baby monitor to keep track of him. However, strange noises from other apartments start appearing on the monitor…
LMO were recording with Fernando for the second time in recent months – following their successful collaboration last summer on the US box office success – Devil.
Babycall was recorded in 2 sessions – the first session calling for 22 strings, harp and piano, and the second using 28 strings, flute, clarinet, bassoon and horn, also with harp and piano. Steve Mclaughlin engineered / produced the sessions at Abbey Road studio 1 and LMO was led by Gaby Lester and conducted by the composer.
Babycall was released in October 2011.

LMO score Season Of The Witch with Atli Örvarsson
14th-century knights transport a suspected witch to a monastery, where the monks deduce that her powers could be the source of the Black Plague…
Season of the Witch stars Nicolas Cage, Clare Foy and Ron Perlman It is directed by Dominic Sena and was filmed in Austria, Hungary and Croatia.
LMO recently scored Atli Örvarsson’s music over 2 days at Air Lyndhurst Hall. Atli used a 36 piece string section (10 first violins, 8 seconds, 6 violas, 8 celli and 4 double basses) for most of the score with 1 session for slightly smaller strings. All the string sessions were supported by Bassoon and Contra Bassoon. A seperate brass session involved 6 horns, 2 tenor trombones, 2 bass trombones and tuba. David Juritz led the orchestra, Andy Brown conducted the sessions and Steve Mclaughlin engineered and produced with Atli Örvarsson.

LMO record Wild Justice for Lewis series 5 with Barrington Pheloung.
LMO recently recorded Wild Justice which is directed by Hettie Macdonald and produced by Chris Burt – another film in a new series of ITV’s flagship TV drama series – Lewis which stars Kevin Whately as Inspector Lewis and Laurence Fox as DS James Hathaway.
Barrington Pheloung used a 17 piece string section with flute, oboe, clarinet, horn and harp for his underscore which he also conducted at
Abbey Road studio 1 with LMO which was led by Tom Bowes.
A string quartet of LMO principals then stayed on to record a section of a Haydn quartet for a key scene in the film. Matt Slater assisted Barrington with score preparation and the session was engineered by Paul Golding.
You can see Wild Justice in the new Lewis series which will start
broadcasting early in 2011.

LMO record with Kasabian
LMO recently recorded 5 tracks with strings for Kasabian’s new album.
LMO were collaborating again with Sergio Pizzorno lead singer and guitarist with Kasabian, after recently recording his soundtrack for London Boulevard. A small string section was used for the tracks, comprising 5 first violins, 4 seconds, 3 violas and 4 celli. LMO was led by Tom Bowes and conducted by Andy Brown.
Steve McLaughlin was the engineer / producer together with Sergio Pizzorno and the sessions were recorded at British Grove studios.

LMO record London Boulevard with Sergio Pizzorno.
London Boulevard tells the story of a man recently released from prison who falls in love with a reclusive young movie star but, as a consequence, finds himself in a duel with a violent gangster.
London Boulevard is directed and produced by William Monahan in his own adaptation of the novel by Ken Bruen. It stars Keira Knightly, Colin Farrell, Anna Friel and Ray Winstone and was filmed on location in London and Los Angeles.
Composer Sergio Pizzorno who is also lead singer and guitarist with Kasabian used a small string section for his underscore comprising 6 first violins, 6 seconds, 4 violas and 5 celli. LMO was led by Rita Manning and conducted by Andy Brown. Steve McLaughlin was the engineer / producer and the session was recorded at British Grove studios. London Boulevard was released on 26 November 2010.

LMO record Eric and Ernie!
LMO recently recorded Eric and Ernie – the story of Eric Morecambe and Ernie Wises’s first meeting and early career as a double act. It stars Daniel Rigby as Eric Morecambe and Bryan Dick as Ernie Wise, is directed by Johnny Campbell and was filmed on location in Morecambe, Lancashire and the North-east of England.
Composer Ilan Eshkeri used 2 different ensembles for the soundtrack – a ‘pit band’ which comprised trumpet, trombone, alto sax doubling clarinet, tenor sax doubling flute, piano, upright bass and drum kit and then a small string ensemble with clarinet and piano.
The recordings were made at British Grove studios with LMO conducted by Andy Brown and led by Tom Bowes. Steve McLaughlin was the engineer / music producer with Ilan Eshkeri.
Eric and Ernie, an independent production for the BBC was released in January 2011.

LMO start recordings for Lewis series 5 with Barrington Pheloung.
LMO recently recorded The Mind has Mountains, the first film in a new series of ITV’s phenomenally popular Lewis series which will start broadcasting next year.

LMO have just recorded the score for The Chaperone with US based composer Jim Johnston.
The Chaperone stars Paul Levesque as Ray Bradstone – an ex getaway driver who is trying to go straight. However, after being unsuccessfully tempted to return to his old ways, he is serving as a chaperone for his daughter’s Sally’s school field trip when he runs into his old bank-robbing crew and mayhem ensues..
The Chaperone also stars Kurt Doss, Raziel Jordan and Lurie Poston and is directed by Michael W Watkin. It’s one of a slate of films projected for release in the next couple of years produced by WWE or World Wrestling Entertainment.
4 times BMI award winning composer Jim Johnston used a 33 piece orchestra for the recording comprising 10 first violins, 8 seconds, 6 violas, 4 celli and 2 double basses with clarinet doubling bass clarinet, bassoon and horn.
The score was recorded by Jake Jackson at Abbey Road studio 1 with LMO conducted by Andy Brown. Jim Johnston produced the recording
with Chris Brooks, from a live link with a Los Angeles studio.
The Chaperone was recently released by WWE in the US.

LMO records Motorstorm Apocalypse at Abbey Road.
LMO have recently completed the soundtrack for Motorstorm Apocalypse – a new computer game from Sony Playstation.
LMO comprised 60 strings (16 first violins, 14 seconds, 12 violas, 10 celli and 8 double basses) for 1 session at Abbey Road Studio 2 which was later supplemented by brass overdubs involving 8 horns, 2 trumpets, 2 tenor trombones, 2 bass trombones and tuba. David Juritz led
LMO and Caroline Dale recorded solos on electric cello after the
orchestral sessions.
Andy Brown conducted the sessions which were engineered by Jake Jackson and co – produced by Klaus Badelt and Ian Honeyman on a link from a Los Angeles studio.
This new Motorstorm Apocalypse game which is the third in the series and was released early in 2011.
