LMO record with McCartney

Julian records McCartney ResizedLMO recorded 4 arrangements by Julian Kershaw for Paul McCartney’s first album on the Starbucks label, “Memory Almost Full”.

The sessions, recorded at Air Lyndhurst Hall,  feature a string octet and double bass led by Eos Chater, 4 horns and bass trombone, 3 trumpets (John Barclay, Derek Watkins and Guy Barker) and saxes / clarinet (Phil Todd).

LMO quartet record with Mann Friday

127_cd ResizedAn LMO string quartet (Cathy Thompson and Rita Manning – violins, Andy Brown – viola and Chris Fish – cello) recently recorded tracks for Mann Friday’s new album – Waiting For The Flash which is out now. The string arrangements were written and produced by Rupert Christie and the session took place at Gateway Studios, Platt’s Island, Sunbury on Thames.

Marco with LMO2 ResizedMarco Antonio Solis’s new album, recorded with LMO recently, has gone to no 1 on the Billboard chart for best Latin pop album.

Richard Ashcroft records with LMO

R ResizedRichard Ashcroft’s new solo album Keys to the World reached number 2 in the top 40 album charts. Julian Kershaw arranged the strings on the album which were recorded by LMO.


Lisbee

The pop singer Lisbee recorded 3 tracks at Abbey Road Studios in August 2008. She was accompanied by an LMO string quartet comprised of David Juritz, Cathy Thompson, Andy Brown and Chris Fish. Recorded for Marionet Music and arranged by Rupert Christie. The tracks are Red, Follow and Note to Self.

Monday 8 December 2008 saw the first ever track to be recorded by members of LMO in the orchestras’ own studio at Timbers in Weybridge, Surrey – thus fulfilling a personal dream of LMO Founder and Music Director, Andy Brown.

Best Days

Amy Nuttall is best known for her TV role as Chloe Atkinson in Emmerdale and is also known as the youngest actress ever to play the lead role in an Andrew Lloyd Webber musical in the West End.

In another new and exciting development in her career, she recorded 4 tracks with Arranger / Conductor Julian Kershaw and a 48 piece LMO at EMI studio 1. Julian wrote for a 30 piece string section, 6 woodwind, 8 brass, harp, piano and 2 percussion.

The session will formed part of an album for EMI Classics and it was engineered / produced by Jonathan Allen.

Tourist

Athlete are signed to Parlophone with whom they released their first album “Vehicles and Animals” in 2003.  LMO strings and brass recorded 5 tracks for their ‘Tourist’ album. Adam Peters arranged and conducted the sessions which involved a 24-piece string section, horn and trombone, and seperately a string octet.  The sessions took place at Abbey Road Studio 1, with David Juritz leading.
