LMO record 10,000BC
10,000BC is a prehistoric epic that follows a young mammoth hunter’s journey through uncharted territory to secure the future of his tribe.
Composer Harald Kloser takes an especially hands-on approach in the film, featuring as a writer and executive producer as well as composing the score. The soundtrack was then orchestrated and conducted by James Brett.
The orchestral recordings took place over five days at Air Lyndhurst Hall. James Brett was at the helm of a mammoth 90 piece orchestra (the string section alone was 60 strong), with Chris Fish adding further cues on electric cello. There were 2 huge percussion sessions beforehand, with 6 players at each, filling the studio with percussion. Metro Voices provided choral cues with a 16 strong choir and there were also 4 African Voices – Rachel John, Irene Forrester, Mabonga Khumala and Andrew Hume. The recordings were engineered by Geoff Foster.
