LMO have just completed recordings with composer Ilan Eshkeri for Johnny English Reborn starring Rowan Atkinson.
In Johnny English Reborn, Rowan Atkinson returns as the most unlikely intelligence officer in Her Majesty’s Secret Service, reprising a role he first performed in the 2003 film Johnny English – which was also an LMO score.
This time he must stop a group of international assassins before they eliminate a world leader and cause global chaos..
Johnny English Reborn also stars Dominic West, Gillian Anderson, Rosamund Pike and Ben Miller and is produced by Tim Bevan and directed by Oliver Parker.
The recording sessions took place at Abbey Road Studio 1, with LMO led by Tom Bowes and conducted by Andy Brown. Various string ensembles numbering between 30 and 50 were augmented by several different woodwind combinations and alto and tenor saxes. Brass also featured with timps in 5 of the 6 sessions and the score was further supplemented with harp, piano, percussion, guitars and vocals. Steve McLaughlin engineered and co-produced the recordings with Ilan Eshkeri which were later mixed at North Pole studios.
Johnny English Reborn was released Worldwide by Universal Pictures this autumn.
